Days after a “historic election”, where the republicans gained control of the senate and secured the largest margin of control of the house since World War II, many are sighing in sigh of relief and are hoping that the end of an error has begun.
For example, Sean Hannity (whom I almost never listen to) closed his program the day after the election by saying “America is safer today than it was yesterday, thanks to you (voters).”
I beg to differ.
I am reminded of a verse from the Psalms:
“Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God.” Psalm 20:7
Some will be tempted to “claim the victory” and fist pump the excellent American electoral process that allowed Americans to take back America from those who tried to fundamentally transform it. While some will be disappointed that hope and change were only given 6 years to work their magic.
Statistically and along partisan lines, Christians will find themselves on both sides of the fence opposing each other’s ideologies, each vehemently claiming that the bible is on the side of the social conservatives or on the compassionate social justice side.

The harsh reality is that there is no hope for any of us in the District of Criminals where the democrats will never de-fund the war machine and the republicans will never dismantle the welfare state.
Mitch McConnell, the likely Senate Majority Leader, wasted no time in promising that he would not use the Senate’s power to withhold funding to pressure the executive branch into doing the right thing. This is incredible level of double talk, since the talking points about the platform for the new republican majority include holding federal agencies accountable.
“Instead, we will restore an era in which committees in both the House and Senate conduct meaningful oversight of federal agencies and develop and debate legislation; and where members of the minority party in both chambers are given the opportunity to participate in the process of governing.” ( Mitch McConnell and John Boehner’s WSJ op-ed explaining “now we can get Congress going.” )
So to sum up, the new republican talking points include holding federal agencies accountable but they have promised to do so without using leverage.
The construction of our government has distinct branches SO THAT one can employ leverage on the others to rein it in if it gets out of control. The election shows that people clearly believe the executive branch is out of control. The bicameral branch has just PROMISED not to reign in the executive branch.
IE, welcome to your new government, same as the old one. Talk. Nothing but talk. Do you see why it is foolish to put our trust in politicians of any stripe?
Consider the next verse in Psalm 20
Psalm 20:8 “They have bowed down and fallen, But we have risen and stood upright.”
The politicians have no integrity. They will say anything to get power. Once they have power, they will abuse it. If you threaten to throw them out of office, they will take a cushy job in the private sector as a reward for their loyalty to the elite.
Whatever they do, we are called to be upright.
If we are to do as Psalm 20 verse 7 suggests and find our unity “in the name of the Lord” then we have to stop “falling” for divide and conquer tactics being used against us by the ruling class.
If we are to do as Psalm 20 verse 8 says, to be “upright”, then we must choose the principled path even when our preferred outcome seems at risk.
The election was and is merely a weapon of mass distraction from reality; as in real risk and real opportunity for change. The admonition to boast in or trust in the Lord is not an admonition to ignore risk as the scripture says “The prudent see danger and turn away” Proverbs 27:12.
Real risk which has not changed:
– There is no economic recovery and the fakery that is GDP, inflation, stock markets, commodity prices is teetering, so I would not be surprised if a big distraction is made to order to blame the collapse on.
– There are multiple federal agencies which at this point are simply rogue, not accountable to congress, and they will continue to run amuck.
– A global pandemic of a disease which the CDC owns the patent on is being incubated and spread quite intentionally.
– Geoengineering is causing droughts and floods in various places and will drive food prices through the roof and will give rise to social unrest.
– The welfare recipients and illegal immigrant population can be used as a bottom up revolutionary force that works for the executive branch against the senate and house.
– The number of trial balloons and executive branch preparations related to nationwide martial law is rising exponentially and plans include quite a few resettlement specialists, children disappearing from schools, and lots of ammunition.
Likewise, the admonition to boast in and trust in the Lord is not an admonition to do nothing. Rather, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves in each decision we make.
Real opportunity for change:
– We still have time to choose a location to ride out the storm as best as possible. The door to overseas options will close soon.
– We still have time to form real relationships with real neighbors who can help each other in real hard times.
– We still have time to put in place long term food storage, root cellars, dehydrated goods, and edible landscapes.
– We still have time to improve our soil, skills, and productive capacity so that in a shelter in place scenario we have a decent chance at feeding ourselves long term.
– We still have time to educate our communities regarding the gospel of the kingdom, the elevation of moral duty above civic duty, etc.
– We still have time to start or join praying patriot movements in our local communities.
Do not be distracted by the “election show”. Don’t fall for the divide and conquer tactics. Don’t be complicit in the sins of an evil empire. Instead, ignore the commotion on the hills and focus on positive actions that you can take every day.
Build community, skills, and get your moral clarity on. I think it is going to be a long dark winter and I am certain no help is coming from DC.
Thessalonians 4
But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more, 11and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you, 12so that you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.

Reblogged this on Governmental deception.
Great post, I definitely agree it is a false dichotomy and we really should just focus on improving our own lives instead of getting distracted by these pony shows where the results are determined long before the actual election occurs. Focus on our lives, grown in our faith and grow closer to the Lord.
Preach it!
“We still have time to choose a location to ride out the storm as best as possible. The door to overseas options will close soon.”
When I look around I honestly don’t see places that are improving toward liberty; Seems pretty much everyone is a gradual state of decline toward socialism. Where do you recommend going, and why?
Chris,
Good and important question.
1) From a big picture perspective, the new world order is global. Scripture says all nations will hate us and will persecute us. This implies one set of laws for all nations, thus no place where liberty by law truly exists.
2) But…I don’t think that all nations will have equal enforcement capabilities. For example, there are big sections of the world where the official currency and government is distrusted and weak. In these areas black markets and barter reigns making a global transaction tax and no buying or selling without the mark, rather tough to enforce.
3) In the near term, America is a road block that must be cleared. In general, there are other places that will be much nicer than the USSA for the next decade. for remote work during the ongoing decline Brazil and Chile come to mind. 1st world amenities, healthcare, diversified global trade, favorable immigration policies.
4) Longer term, I want to be among the unreached. The NWO will subjugate one nation after another. I think the last to fall will be the nations with the largest indigenous populations. Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay in our hemisphere offer the best possibilities IMHO.
